Fibre discs take centre stage at Manufacturing Indonesia
Ceramic grain as the trade fair focal point
At the international trade fair for machinery and equipment in the Indonesian capital city, Jakarta, from 5 to 8 December 2018, VSM’s high-performance ceramic-grain fibre discs took centre stage – and were subjected to extensive practical tests in the VSM grinding cabin. Starting with the VSM CERAMICS XF760 range and VSM CERAMICS Plus XF855, which has even better self-sharpening action, through to the latest new product, VSM ACTIROX AF890, trade visitors from Asian industrial companies were evidently impressed with the effectiveness of the products in steel processing. "Our trade fair guests were impressed by the exceptionally aggressive grinding, high stock removal rate and long life of our ceramic grain products", says Brennan Benedict, Application Manager at PT. Amplasindo Jatra Tama, describing the successful exhibition.
Improved user protection
The direct advantages from which end users benefit in their physically strenuous work were also in focus. "More stock removal with less noise, heat, sparks and, above all, with less vibration, are strong arguments in favour of VSM fibre discs, particularly when compared to the bonded abrasives that are still widely used in Indonesia. Our ceramic fibre discs stand for the best user protection that is technically possible, and at the same time offer better performance. This includes significantly more protection from "vibration white finger", a syndrome that causes nerve damage in the hands and can lead to severe disabilities. We are therefore convinced that our fibre discs will succeed in the Indonesian market and will replace bonded abrasives", concludes Brennan Benedict.
With around 1,600 exhibitors and more than 30,000 visitors, Manufacturing Indonesia is the largest trade fair for machinery and metal working and processing in Indonesia and is a central market place for the entire industry in the ASEAN region. In 2019, the exhibition will take place for the thirtieth time.
